How To Prevent Lung Cancer

Nose picking aka nose dirt can be a dirty activity. But a number of researchers from Boston University Medical Center believe the nose can protect themselves from lung cancer. How could you?

Researchers from the United States found the nose as a new method for detecting lung cancer as early as possible, especially for smokers. Of course, the detection can not be done alone with the fingers. But doctors do by using special equipment.

The doctor will make the tissue sample which is taken up with dirt from the nostril as a penetrating analysis. This method is considered more practical than to do a biopsy or tissue sampling via injection or surgery in the lung tissue is painful.

Dr. Christina Anderlind of Boston University Medical Center who discovered a way that after doing research on 33 smokers who suffer from lung cancer. Based on the sample layer in the patient's nose, he saw a change in 170 genes compared to those who are healthy.

Anderlind said, analysis of tissue samples from the surface of the nose is accurate enough to detect lung cancer as early as possible. "The level of accuracy is the same as if it had to do a biopsy, but picking your nose is much more practical," he said.

Early detection of lung cancer greatly affect the chances of the patient. The sooner the disease is detected, the patient has recovered a great opportunity. (Go4/RRN)
