Salt also effect Addictive


The study team from the U.S. and Australia revealed salt can lead to addiction. Such as cigarettes and drugs, salt it also has an addictive effect on cells and brain tissue.

The team used a mouse as the object of research. The rats were conditioned low-salt diet then the brain activity of the animals studied. Researchers also tested a number of mice not given the salt for three days, but then given a drink containing salt. When rats in conditions of need salt, they are more active brain cells to form proteins. Activity of rat brain cells was similar to the activity of brain cells in people who are addicted to heroin, cocaine, and nicotine.

Professor Derek Denton of the University of Melbourne says there is no activity when the object of study of classical instinct of salt deficiency. "Genes become passive when sodium deficiency and in a few minutes will be back to normal when the body begins to consume more salt," he said.
