Bacteria Cause Diabetes Pus

A new bacterial sexually transmitted disease gonorrhea have become immune to antibiotics.
It was delivered according to the results of international research.

Analysis of the bacterium that causes gonorrhea showed a new variant that is very fast for the mutation. Scientists from the Swedish Reference Laboratory warned that infectious disease could be a threat to global public health.

New drugs to delay the spread of infectious diseases was necessary. The first case of antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea was found in Japan.

By analyzing the types of bacteria resistant gonorrhea antibiotic, called H041, researchers identify genetic mutation that has led to new types of highly resistant to all types of cephalosporin antibiotics. Cephalosporins are used to treat many types of infections caused by bacteria. This antibiotic is very similar to penicillin.

Dr Magnus Unemo of the Research Laboratory for Pathogenic Neisseria in Sweden said the findings were alarming but it is anticipated.

"Ever since antibiotics became the standard treatment for gonorrhea in the 1940s, these bacteria have demonstrated a remarkable ability to develop mechanisms of resistance to all drugs used to control it," said Dr. Unemo. "It's too early to assess whether new types of bacteria that has spread, usually a new immunity to the bacteria can spread quickly unless the drug or an effective new treatment programs are developed."

Rebecca Findlay, from the Family Planning Association, called it a worrying sign.

"Prevention is more important because we know that antibiotics are not always able to cure it. The disease gonorrhea can affect people of all ages and all people should pay attention to their sexual health," said Findlay.

Dr David Livermore, laboratory director who monitors antibiotic resistance in the UK Health Protection Agency, said the "latest in laboratory experiments showed that the bacteria become less sensitive to cephalosporins, and some reportedly failed. This means we must change the type of cephalosporin use and increase the dose . "

"There are concerns gonorrhea will become much more difficult to cure in the next five years," he said.

Gonorrhea is a disease that is transmitted through sexual relations most common worldwide. Patients feel sore when urinating and sometimes secrete fluid like pus.

But about 50% of women and about 2 to 5% of men who suffer from gonorrhea show no signs. If left untreated gonorrhea can cause disease health complications that can not be cured in men and women.

The best way to avoid this is to wear a condom when having sexual intercourse, reported the BBC. (Go4/DNI)
